"Velocity" error on ACH transactions in Gravity

“The velocity count for a single day or rolling two week period has been exceeded”

Occasionally a user trying to use their ACH account for a payment may receive this error referencing velocity.

Gravity's ACH system sets two-week limits on both transaction volume and count to help their team identify and prevent potential fraud. Once they confirm they are legitimate transactions they immediately raise the limits for a school.

If schools encounter this error, please have them email Trevor Kumagai-Taylor : tkumagai-taylor@gravitypayments.com or Gravity's support team (1-800-989-2135) with their maximum expected transaction count and total ACH volume for a two-week period. Gravity will update the limits immediately.

While Gravity aims to set their limits high enough during account setup, they occasionally need to make these adjustments as schools grow.
