  • Settings → Attendance → Markings

• Default markings typically include:

  • Present

  • Excused

  • Tardy

  • Absent

• Additional custom attendance markings can be added

• Each marking includes configurable options:

  • Label/name

  • Color

• Key settings for each marking:

  • Default marking:

    • Usually “Present”

  • Show in totals:

    • Determines whether marking appears on progress reports

  • Notify when marked:

    • Sends notifications to parents when used

    • Common for Tardy and Absent

  • Group by date received:

    • Combines multiple attendance entries into one daily record

    • Useful for Present if attendance is taken multiple times daily

    • Usually disabled for Tardy so each occurrence is counted separately

• Common absent-related custom markings:

  • Excused absence

  • Unexcused/unknown absence

  • Early dismissal/left early

  • Athletic or school activity absence
