Standards-Based Grading - Creating/Editing Standards

Steps 1 - 3 of setting up SBG for your school

There are three steps to setting up Standards-Based Grading (SBG) in School Settings.

To begin, go to Settings > Classroom Settings > Standards-Based Grading

Step 1 - Scales

First, create one or more SBG Scales for your school.

  1. Click the Scales tab
  2. Click the Green +Scale button
  3. Name your scale
  4. Enter the Marks and descriptions
  5. Click Save

Step 2 - Categories

Your standards can be organized into one or more categories.  The categories can be subjects, academic levels or anything that works for your school.  It is recommended to have them set before you create standards.

  1. Click the Categories tab
  2. Click the Green +Category button
  3. Name your Category
  4. Click Save

Step 3 - Standards

All the standards for your school are added here and must be set up first in order to use them in a Course.

  1. Click the Standards tab
  2. Click the Green +Standard button
  3. Enter an ID/Code
  4. Choose a Category
  5. Choose a Scale
  6. Enter a Short Description (50 characters max)
  7. Enter a Description
  8. Click Save

 

Repeat these three steps as needed to set up all the standards for your school.  Once this is completed, you will be ready to add standards to your Courses.
