Module 9 - Class Rank Settings

  • Default Class Rank Report:

    • Ranks students by overall average percentage grade

    • Uses combined class averages, not GPA

  • Report displays:

    • Student rankings

    • Overall percentage averages

  • Optional settings allow advanced ranking customization

  • Settings can:

    • Filter courses by “affects GPA”

    • Weight classes by course credits

      • Example: 1-credit classes count more than 0.5-credit classes

  • “Affects GPA” setting useful for excluding:

    • Audit classes

    • Electives

    • Non-academic/fun courses

  • Average adjustments allow weighted ranking boosts:

    • Commonly used for:

      • Honors classes

      • AP classes

  • Ranking labels can be created in three types:

    • Percentile

      • Example: Top 10%

    • Rank

      • Example: Top 3 students

    • Average range

      • Example: Dean’s List (90–100%)

  • Labels are color-coded and automatically applied in reports

  • Helps schools automate ranking calculations and honors designations instead of managing them manually
