Module 1 - Grading Units
Video Summary
A Grading Unit generally represents a period of time to separate the grades students receive throughout an Academic Term (i.e. Quarter 1 lasts from Aug. 1st to Oct. 15th, and Quarter 2 lasts from Oct. 15th to Dec. 31st).
Alternatively, a Grading Unit can represent an exam grade that should be included for all classes (i.e. MidTerm and Final). Each unit must be assigned a weight, to determine how much it factors into a student's final class average.
A Grading Unit Group is a way to organize your Grading Units into groups. If all Academic Levels for the school will use the same Grading Units, you only need to make one group, and then you can add Grading Units to it. You can create multiple groups if you have different Academic Levels that use different Grading Units, for example, you might have a group of Grading Units for lower school Academic Levels and another group for high school students.
-
A Grading Unit Group is unique to an Academic Term and can't be reused next year. The Grading Units are date specific.
- The Grading Unit Group and Grading Units can be Data Copied from one Academic Term to the next via the Data Copier which you will learn about next.
